The Big Day

We are so excited to start our marriage with a wedding celebration at Skodje, Norway! Skodje is a small town about 30 km from Ålesund. Ragnhild´s aunt and uncle lives there, but she didn´t really consider it for a wedding location until she heard about a local barn. The picture above shows the view from the local church where we will have our ceremony.

Our ceremony will be quite traditional, and recognizable for both natives and guests. We have chosen to have some readings in Norwegian, some in English, and chosen songs that are known in both languages. The rest of the ceremony will be mostly in English, with parts in Norwegian.

The party will be held in barn located in the middle of the picture (if you squint you might see it). So if the weather permits it and you change out of your stilettos, it will be a lovely walk from the church. There is free parking both at the church and the barn, so no worries to where to park your car.

The dinner and dessert will be buffet style. For those who have allergies you can know that there will be gluten and dairy free options.

Our dress code is semi-formal (lys/mørk dress), so the guys can wear their summer suits in any color, and the ladies can look pretty in dresses either long or short. The bride is wearing a white dress, but still managed to dream up a pinterest board of what to would wear as a guest (male or female) at her own wedding.
